With his life in danger, can Roderic face a terrible family secret and foil the poison plot?
The Poison Plot is the first book in a series, The Adventures of Roderic. Miss Jenkins thrills young readers as she incorporates the basic concept of respect for authority in the story line. She motivates young readers to embrace this important message in an exciting way by showing that loyalty properly placed, with God's favor, can reconcile insurmountable odds.

The Writer's Digest Critique of The Poison Plot
"The Poison Plot: The Adventures of Roderic presents a good message to young readers who enjoy a good adventure...(It) is quite unique in that it is an adventure with Christian themes geared toward young readers, and there can never be enough literature in this genre for this age group. From Roderic's first assignment guarding Anne until the very end of the book, the reader doesn't know what will happen next or how the characters will deal with it. I truly never really knew what was coming as I turned the page. This kind of suspense is hard to maintain, but the author does it throughout. The final message, contained in the last paragraph on the last page, is one that will appeal to teens of the Christian faith, and I think they will be really excited about how all of the adventurous threads wind down and tie neatly together to convey this message. Imagine writing an entire book and having everything come together at the end in this way-a great twist that is hard to pull off. This will make a good read for any teen who wants to read entertaining, wholesome literature with Christian themes." |
